Nezinscot farm is a third generation farm originally owned by Gregg's Grandfather, G.W. Varney. It had been operated up until 1985 as a conventional dairy farm at which point Gregg's parents sold the cows and went into retirement. Gregg and Gloria bought it from his parents in 1986 and began dairying once again a year later.

In 1994, Nezinscot Farm became the first certified organic dairy in the state of Maine. We milk up to 120 cows year round and have diversified to include a farm store which specializes in marketing the remaining products that are grown and produced on our farm including Natural Meats, milk, cheese (from our goats and cows), vegetables, herbs, wool and exotic yarns from our own sheep, llamas, and alpacas, canned goods from the garden all certified organic.
The store has a full line bakery featuring our own breads, cookies, pastries, pies, and frozen dinner entrees, natural foods as complimentary items to the products listed above, as well as other local products from other farmers.
Our continuing desire is to educate people on the importance of supporting local farms and to know where your food comes from. It's with this goal in mind that we continue to maintain and encourage diverse and sustainable agricultural system for family farms as a way to keep them (and us) in business. Helping to keep Maine rural looking in landscape while at the same time helping to keep the family farms within that landscape, working.
We have five children; Natasha 15, Samantha 14, Mackenzie 8, Roy 6, Everet 4.
