Join us in welcoming Lauren “Oceana” McBride, our 2021 summer Fiber studio intern.
Lauren “Oceana” McBride grew up in Weatherby Lake, MO, and is currently a Senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln majoring in Textile Science, with minors in Environmental Studies, Global Studies, and Entrepreneurship.
As a fiber artist and a student, she is focusing on how to make the textile industry more environmentally friendly. During the school year, she interns at the Nebraska Innovation Studio teaching members on laser cutters, screen printing, and sewing machines.
She began knitting/crochet and sewing at 10 years old and has been interested in the arts and animal husbandry for most of her life. During her time at Nezinscot Farm, she is excited to work with animals, expand her arts & fibers experience, and interact with customers.
